Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund Increases Exposure to 32 Stocks

Sunil Singhania-backed Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund made significant portfolio changes in August 2026, increasing its holdings in 32 stocks, according to monthly portfolio data disclosed through ACE MF.

The fund raised its exposure to companies across sectors including banking, power, metals, technology, financial services, pharmaceuticals, real estate and consumer businesses.

Among the notable additions were Dixon Technologies, Oracle Financial Services Software (OFSS), NTPC and Tata Steel. The fund also entered two new stocks — Billionbrains Garage Ventures, popularly known as Groww, and Jubilant Pharmova.

The portfolio had 46 stocks at the end of August, compared with 45 in July, and was spread across 23 sectors.

Dixon Technologies and OFSS See Higher Allocation

Dixon Technologies was among the stocks where Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund increased its holding.

The fund bought around 6,086 additional shares of Dixon Technologies during August. Its total holding increased from 90,000 shares in July to 96,086 shares in August.

The holding was valued at around Rs 143 crore at the end of August, according to portfolio data.

The fund also added 15,000 shares of Oracle Financial Services Software, taking its total holding to approximately 1.65 lakh shares.

The OFSS holding was worth around Rs 207 crore at the end of August, making it one of the fund's larger positions.

NTPC Gets the Largest Share Addition

Among the existing holdings increased during August, NTPC saw the largest addition in terms of shares.

Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund purchased around 17.50 lakh NTPC shares, taking its total holding to approximately 65 lakh shares.

The NTPC position was worth around Rs 213 crore at the end of August and accounted for roughly 2.88% of the portfolio's net asset value.

The increase came alongside higher exposure to other large companies in the power and infrastructure-related segments.

Tata Steel Holding Rises by 15 Lakh Shares

Tata Steel was another significant addition.

The fund bought around 15 lakh additional shares, taking its total holding to nearly 85 lakh shares by the end of August.

The Tata Steel position was valued at approximately Rs 157 crore and represented around 2.12% of the portfolio, according to August holdings data.

The move added to the fund's exposure to the metals sector.

Other Major Stocks Where Abakkus Increased Exposure

The fund also increased its holdings in several financial, industrial and consumer-facing companies.

Among the notable additions were:

The portfolio data also shows higher exposure to Larsen & Toubro, Lupin, CG Power, Reliance Industries and other existing holdings.

Abakkus Adds Groww and Jubilant Pharmova

August also saw two new entrants in the Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund portfolio.

The fund added around 60 lakh shares of Billionbrains Garage Ventures (Groww). The position was valued at approximately Rs 115 crore at the end of the month.

It also added around 5.51 lakh shares of Jubilant Pharmova.

These additions expanded the fund's portfolio from 45 stocks in July to 46 stocks in August.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI Exposure Increased

Banking remained an important area of the fund's portfolio activity.

The fund increased its holdings in HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India, along with The Federal Bank.

August-end portfolio data shows ICICI Bank as the fund's largest holding at about 5.51% of NAV, followed by HDFC Bank at 4.41% and State Bank of India at 3.87%.

The combined exposure indicates that financial stocks remained a substantial component of the diversified flexi-cap portfolio.

Reliance Industries and Larsen & Toubro Also Increased

Abakkus also added to its holdings in large companies such as Reliance Industries and Larsen & Toubro.

The fund added around 3 lakh shares of Reliance Industries, taking its total holding to about 18 lakh shares.

Its Larsen & Toubro holding increased by around 1.73 lakh shares to approximately 5 lakh shares.

The August-end values were around Rs 230 crore for Reliance Industries and Rs 202 crore for Larsen & Toubro.

What Happened to Cyient DLM and Avalon Technologies?

The fund's portfolio changes were not entirely one-sided.

Abakkus reduced its exposure to Cyient DLM and Avalon Technologies during August.

The fund sold around 12.71 lakh shares of Cyient DLM, leaving approximately 1.51 lakh shares in the portfolio.

It also sold around 4.43 lakh shares of Avalon Technologies, with the reduction representing a holding value of about Rs 80.17 crore.

This means the August portfolio activity involved both increasing and reducing exposure rather than simply adding to existing positions across the board.

Several Holdings Remained Unchanged

Around 11 stocks saw no change in the number of shares held during August.

These included:

  • Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation

  • Kajaria Ceramics

  • United Spirits

  • Divi's Laboratories

  • IIFL Finance

  • Bajaj Auto

  • Vedanta Power

  • Supriya Lifesciences

  • 360 One Wam

  • PB Fintech

  • Tata Motors

The unchanged positions indicate that the fund retained exposure to several companies despite actively reallocating capital elsewhere.

Fund AUM Rises to Rs 7,394 Crore

The Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund's assets under management increased during August.

Its AUM rose to approximately Rs 7,394 crore, compared with around Rs 6,338 crore in July.

The fund had 46 stocks across 23 sectors at the end of August and was benchmarked against the BSE 500 Index (TRI).

The scheme is managed by Sanjay Doshi for equity and Abhishek K S for fixed income.

How Has the Fund Performed?

The fund was launched on December 29, 2025, making its track record relatively short.

Since inception, it had delivered a return of approximately 10.38% as of the August portfolio review.

Over the preceding three months, the fund delivered around 2.45%, compared with a 2.86% decline for its benchmark. Over six months, it delivered approximately 14.78%, compared with a 1.01% decline for the benchmark.

Because the fund has been operating for less than a year, investors should be cautious about drawing long-term conclusions from its short performance history.

What Is the Investment Objective?

Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund seeks to generate capital appreciation and long-term growth through investments in a diversified portfolio of large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap stocks.

It can also invest in debt and money-market securities as a secondary objective.

The fund is therefore designed to have flexibility across market-cap segments rather than being restricted to a particular category of stocks.

What Does the August Portfolio Activity Indicate?

The August portfolio changes show that the fund was actively reallocating capital across sectors and companies.

The additions ranged from large financial institutions and utilities to technology, pharmaceuticals, consumer businesses and industrial companies.

At the same time, reductions in Cyient DLM and Avalon Technologies demonstrate that the portfolio was being actively adjusted rather than simply expanded.

However, a fund manager's purchase or increase in a particular stock should not automatically be interpreted as a recommendation for individual investors.

Portfolio decisions are based on the scheme's mandate, investment process, valuation assessment and portfolio-level risk considerations.

Abakkus Continues to Rebalance Its Portfolio

The August changes follow active portfolio adjustments made by Abakkus in previous months.

In July, the flexi-cap fund had increased exposure to companies including Reliance Industries, NTPC, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI, while exiting Bank of Baroda.

The continued changes suggest that the fund has been actively managing its portfolio as market conditions and individual company valuations evolve.

What Should Mutual Fund Investors Watch?

Investors tracking Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund should look beyond individual monthly purchases.

Important factors include:

  • Long-term performance across different market cycles

  • Portfolio concentration

  • Valuation of major holdings

  • Fund expense ratio

  • Portfolio turnover

  • Risk-adjusted performance

  • Fund manager continuity

  • Benchmark performance

  • Investment horizon and personal risk tolerance

Monthly portfolio disclosures can provide useful information about where a fund is allocating capital, but they do not indicate what an individual investor should buy or sell.

Bottom Line

Sunil Singhania-backed Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund increased its holdings in 32 stocks during August 2026, with notable additions to Dixon Technologies, Oracle Financial Services Software, NTPC, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI.

The fund also added Groww and Jubilant Pharmova as new portfolio entrants, while reducing its holdings in Cyient DLM and Avalon Technologies. Its AUM rose to around Rs 7,394 crore, with 46 stocks across 23 sectors.

The portfolio changes provide an indication of how the fund was positioned at the end of August, but individual stock additions should not be treated as standalone investment signals. Investors should evaluate the fund's strategy, portfolio concentration, valuation, risk and their own financial objectives before making investment decisions.
