Did Akshay Kumar Just Reveal His Next Film’s Title With Anees Bazmee? Here’s What ‘Maujah Hi Maujah’ Means

Akshay Kumar hints at ‘Maujah Hi Maujah’ as title of his next film with Anees Bazmee

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar may have turned his birthday into an unexpected title reveal.

The actor, who turned 59 on September 9, appears to have hinted at the title of his upcoming collaboration with filmmaker Anees Bazmee. While replying to birthday wishes from his co-stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna, Akshay wrote: “Thank you so much, ladies! Clearly, we don't care where we are as long as there's some Maujah Hi Maujah!” 

The phrase became even more intriguing when Bazmee himself wished Akshay on Instagram. After reposting the filmmaker's message, Akshay replied that working on Bazmee's sets brings only one feeling to mind — “Maujah Hi Maujah!” 

Is ‘Maujah Hi Maujah’ actually the film’s title?

Nothing has been formally announced by the makers in the material currently available, but the clues are hard to miss.

Hindustan Times reported that Akshay's repeated use of “Maujah Hi Maujah” appears to indicate that this could be the title of his next film with Bazmee. 

The project has been confirmed as an Akshay Kumar-Anees Bazmee collaboration, with Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna also attached to the cast. Industry reports have previously listed December 4, 2026 as its expected theatrical release date. 

Akshay and Anees Bazmee reunite

Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee have previously worked together on popular entertainers, including Welcome and Singh Is Kinng. Their latest collaboration is expected to be another comedy-driven film.

The upcoming project also marks another collaboration between Akshay and Vidya Balan, while Raashii Khanna is among the other prominent names associated with the cast. 

The film is currently among Akshay's several projects lined up as the actor continues to maintain a packed release schedule.

Akshay's birthday comes ahead of Haiwaan release

The possible title reveal comes just two days before Akshay's next theatrical release, Haiwaan.

Directed by Priyadarshan, the film stars Akshay opposite Saif Ali Khan and sees the two actors reunite on screen after a long gap. Akshay plays a markedly darker character in the film and has described it as his first truly evil role. 

Haiwaan has received a U/A 16+ certificate and is scheduled to hit theatres on September 11, 2026. 

What does ‘Maujah Hi Maujah’ mean?

The phrase is being used by Akshay in a playful, celebratory context, suggesting fun, enjoyment and carefree energy — an appropriate clue for a comedy entertainer.

For now, however, fans will have to wait for an official announcement from the film's makers before treating Maujah Hi Maujah as the confirmed title.

Akshay's birthday post may have revealed the name, but the final word still rests with the filmmakers.
