CJP to act as a 'pressure group': Abhijeet Dipke shifts focus to E20 after NEET protest

Abhijeet Dipke says CJP will become a 'pressure group', shifts focus to E20

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday said the organisation would now function as a "pressure group" after concluding its campaign on the NEET issue, announcing that its next major focus would be the implementation of E20 fuel across the country.

Speaking to reporters, Dipke said the party's objective was to continue influencing public policy through issue-based campaigns rather than limiting itself to conventional political activity.

"CJP will now act as a pressure group. After NEET, our focus will be on E20," Dipke said.

Shift in campaign strategy

According to Dipke, the organisation intends to build public awareness about the impact of E20 fuel and engage with experts, citizens and policymakers before launching a nationwide outreach programme.

He said the group would seek greater transparency from the government regarding the implementation of ethanol-blended fuel and its implications for consumers, vehicle owners and the environment.

From NEET protests to policy advocacy

CJP had earlier led protests over issues related to NEET, demanding reforms in the examination process and greater accountability from authorities.

With that campaign entering a new phase, Dipke said the organisation would now expand its agenda to include broader public policy issues that directly affect people's daily lives.

He maintained that the party would continue organising public meetings, awareness drives and consultations with stakeholders to press for policy changes where necessary.

E20 rollout remains under discussion

The government's push for E20 petrol—fuel blended with 20 per cent ethanol—has been promoted as part of India's strategy to reduce crude oil imports, improve energy security and lower carbon emissions.

However, the policy has also generated discussions among automobile manufacturers, industry experts and consumers over vehicle compatibility, fuel efficiency and the transition timeline.

Dipke said CJP would closely monitor the implementation of the programme and present its findings before deciding on the next course of action.
