Has CJP Demanded Punjab Education Minister's Resignation Amid Uproar Over Paper Leaks? Saurav Das Responds

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has dismissed speculation that it is seeking the resignation of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains amid the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged examination paper leaks in the state. Senior CJP leader Saurav Das said the organisation has not made any such demand and reiterated that its primary objective is institutional accountability rather than political targeting.

Das issued the clarification after reports and social media discussions suggested that the youth-led movement, which recently played a key role in the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak controversy, was preparing to launch a similar campaign in Punjab.

According to Das, CJP believes that responsibility for any alleged examination irregularities should be determined through a transparent and impartial investigation. He stressed that demanding a minister's resignation without conclusive findings would be premature and inconsistent with the movement's principles.

The clarification comes at a time when the Punjab government is facing criticism from opposition parties over allegations of paper leaks in recruitment and competitive examinations. However, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has rejected the accusations, asserting that no competitive examination paper has leaked during the Aam Aadmi Party government's four-and-a-half years in office.

CJP, which emerged as the face of nationwide protests over examination integrity, has repeatedly maintained that its campaign is aimed at strengthening transparency in India's education system. The movement recently concluded its nationwide agitation after the Centre accepted several of its demands following weeks of protests and negotiations.

The organisation has also urged political parties not to misrepresent its stand on state-specific issues, emphasizing that it will continue to raise concerns wherever evidence of examination malpractice exists while avoiding demands driven by political considerations.

With debates over examination integrity continuing across several states, CJP leaders have indicated that they will closely monitor future developments and advocate for systemic reforms, including stronger safeguards against paper leaks, greater transparency in recruitment processes, and swift action wherever irregularities are established.
