CNN anchor shares gruelling daily routine, says she starts workday at 2:15 am
A CNN anchor has offered a glimpse into the demanding routine behind morning television, revealing that her day begins as early as 2:15 am to prepare for live broadcasts.
Speaking about the challenges of working in a fast-paced newsroom, the journalist admitted that the schedule often leaves her with very little time to rest.
"I start my day at 2:15 am. I have very long days without sleep," she said while describing the realities of her profession.
Life behind the camera
The anchor explained that preparing for a live news programme involves far more than appearing on television. Her mornings begin with reviewing overnight developments, coordinating with producers, going through scripts and making last-minute editorial changes before going on air.
She noted that breaking news can alter the rundown within minutes, requiring anchors and production teams to remain constantly alert.
Challenges of early morning television
Anchoring a morning news programme demands strict discipline and consistency. Waking up in the early hours means adjusting personal routines, maintaining energy throughout the broadcast and coping with irregular sleep patterns.
The journalist acknowledged that the long hours can be physically and mentally exhausting, but said the responsibility of informing viewers makes the effort worthwhile.
Social media reacts
Her comments resonated with many social media users, who praised journalists working behind the scenes to deliver live news every day.
Several users expressed surprise at the early start time, while others appreciated the insight into the demanding schedules followed by television news professionals.
The remarks have also sparked conversations about work-life balance, sleep deprivation and the pressures faced by those working in round-the-clock news organisations.
