'Case Against Dada Is Completely False': Pregnant Patient's Family Defends Shiv Sena Corporator in Hospital Assault Row

The controversy surrounding the alleged assault on hospital staff by a Shiv Sena corporator has taken a fresh turn after the family of the pregnant patient at the centre of the incident publicly defended the politician.

Rejecting the allegations, the family claimed that the case registered against the corporator was "completely false" and insisted that he had stepped in only to help them during a difficult situation at the hospital.

Family Backs the Corporator

Speaking to reporters, members of the patient's family said the corporator, whom they referred to as "Dada," did not assault any hospital employee.

"The case against Dada is completely false. He came only to help us when we were facing problems at the hospital," a family member said.

According to the family, they had sought the corporator's assistance after becoming dissatisfied with the treatment and response they received at the medical facility.

Assault Allegations Sparked Political Row

The controversy erupted after hospital authorities accused the Shiv Sena corporator of assaulting doctors and staff during a confrontation over the treatment of the pregnant woman.

A video of the incident circulated widely on social media, prompting criticism from medical associations, which demanded strict action against those involved.

Police subsequently registered a case and launched an investigation into the alleged assault.

Hospital Staff Stand by Complaint

Hospital authorities have maintained that members of the medical staff were threatened and assaulted during the altercation.

Doctors' associations have condemned violence against healthcare workers, arguing that such incidents create fear among medical professionals and disrupt patient care.

They have urged authorities to ensure the safety of hospital staff and to take action in accordance with the law.

Investigation Continues

Police are examining CCTV footage, witness statements and other evidence to determine the sequence of events.

Officials have said the investigation will consider all versions of the incident, including the statements made by the patient's family and hospital employees.

No final conclusions have been announced, and authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation while the inquiry is underway.

Debate Over Hospital Safety

The incident has once again highlighted concerns about the safety of healthcare workers in India, where cases of verbal abuse and physical assaults on doctors have periodically triggered nationwide protests.

At the same time, patient rights groups have stressed that grievances over medical care should be addressed through lawful and institutional mechanisms rather than confrontation.

The outcome of the police investigation is expected to determine whether further legal action will be taken in the case.
