Who is Prabhjeet Singh?

Prabhjeet Singh is a seasoned technology executive with more than two decades of experience spanning mobility, consulting and business strategy.

An engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Singh later earned his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Before joining Uber, he worked with global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, advising businesses across multiple sectors.

Leadership at Uber

Singh joined Uber in 2015 and went on to become President of Uber India and South Asia. During his 11-year stint, he played a pivotal role in expanding Uber's footprint across India, launching new mobility services and strengthening partnerships with drivers, riders and government stakeholders.

Under his leadership, Uber focused on improving accessibility, expanding into smaller cities and introducing new product offerings tailored to Indian consumers.

Why OpenAI hired him

OpenAI's appointment of Singh comes as India emerges as one of the company's highest-priority markets.
