Omar Abdullah Resolves Divorce Dispute With Estranged Wife Payal, Informs Supreme Court

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has informed the Supreme Court that he and his estranged wife, Payal Abdullah, have reached an amicable settlement in their long-running matrimonial dispute.

The development was placed before the apex court during the hearing of the divorce case, with counsel representing the parties informing the bench that the dispute had been resolved through mutual agreement.

Taking note of the submission, the Supreme Court recorded the settlement and proceeded with the matter in accordance with the understanding reached between the two sides.

The divorce proceedings had been pending for several years, during which both Omar Abdullah and Payal Abdullah were engaged in legal proceedings concerning the dissolution of their marriage. The latest development marks a significant step towards bringing the prolonged dispute to a close.
