AAP's Arvind Kejriwal Calls for Social Boycott of Ram Mandir 'Donation Accused', Welcomes Ayodhya Bar Association Move

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday demanded a social boycott of those accused in the alleged Ram Mandir donation misappropriation case, asserting that anyone accused of siphoning off money donated by devotees should face strong social condemnation.

Speaking on the controversy surrounding the alleged diversion of donations meant for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kejriwal said the accusations had hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees across the country and called for stringent action against those found guilty.

Kejriwal Calls for Social Boycott

Addressing reporters, Kejriwal said that individuals accused in the case should not only face legal proceedings but also social isolation.

He argued that if the allegations are proven, those responsible should not be accepted by society, describing the alleged offence as a betrayal of the faith reposed by devotees who contributed to the construction and upkeep of the Ram Temple.

The AAP leader stressed that the law must take its own course while ensuring a fair and transparent investigation into the allegations.

Welcomes Ayodhya Bar Association's Decision

Kejriwal also welcomed the reported decision of the Ayodhya Bar Association not to represent the accused in the case.

According to reports, members of the Bar Association resolved that advocates associated with the body would refrain from appearing on behalf of the accused in connection with the alleged donation misappropriation case.

Kejriwal described the reported move as a reflection of public outrage over the allegations and said it demonstrated the seriousness with which the legal fraternity viewed the matter.

Donation Row Intensifies

The controversy erupted after allegations surfaced regarding the alleged misappropriation of donations collected at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The case gained further attention following the arrest of an aide associated with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra General Secretary Champat Rai. Investigating agencies are probing whether standard operating procedures governing the handling of donations were bypassed and whether earlier warnings were ignored.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has denied any institutional wrongdoing, maintaining that the alleged offence, if established, was an individual act and not indicative of systemic failures within the trust.

Political Reactions Continue

The alleged donation irregularities have triggered sharp political exchanges, with opposition parties demanding greater transparency and accountability in the investigation.

Leaders from the ruling side have, however, accused their political opponents of attempting to politicise an ongoing probe, insisting that conclusions should not be drawn before the investigation is completed.

Authorities continue to examine financial records, CCTV footage and witness statements as part of the investigation. No court has yet determined the guilt or innocence of those accused, and the matter remains under active investigation.
