‘Didn't Want Headlines, Wanted Solutions’: Raghav Chadha Explains Silence on NEET Paper Leak Row

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has defended his decision not to publicly comment on the NEET paper leak controversy in its initial stages, saying he chose to focus on resolving the issue rather than making headlines.

Addressing the matter, Chadha said his silence should not be mistaken for inaction, stressing that meaningful engagement behind the scenes was more important than public posturing.

"I didn't want headlines, I wanted solutions," Chadha said, explaining that his approach was guided by the interests of students affected by the controversy.

The AAP leader said the paper leak issue had caused anxiety among lakhs of students and their families, making it essential for political leaders to focus on constructive solutions rather than turning the matter into a political spectacle.

According to Chadha, he spent time interacting with stakeholders and understanding the concerns surrounding the examination process before making any public statement. He argued that policymaking and institutional reforms require careful deliberation rather than immediate political reactions.

The NEET paper leak controversy has remained a major political issue, with opposition parties accusing the Centre of failing to protect the integrity of competitive examinations.
